Update: Я сама хороша. Guadalupe Hidalgo - это ГОРОД такой. А героя зовут МИГЕЛь Идальго, и он герой НЕЗАВИСИМОСТИ, а не революции. А город назван в честь сразу обоих, героя и Святой Девы.

From Mexico City, you might be able to make it to the Zocaló within an hour.... but the other places?

Del Zócalo a Chapultepec media hora más o menos
Del Zócalo a Xochimilco... hora y media tal vez...

I think, it was irony. Meaning that with all the traffic it is so difficult to get anywhere that places don't seem so nearby.
