In one of the dimsum eateries which I visited this time (BTW recommended by my guide book), for dumsum they served... mustard, ketchup and something like hoisin sauce. I was also eating noodle soup and it was totally bland. So I asked for hot sauce. And the chinese waitress pointed at the... ketchup. "The only hot sauce we have" (it was spicy, yes, but I don't want any ketchup in my noodle soup!).
